These specialized social skills classes are a creative and resilience building way to help your child build foundational social skills through fiber arts like knitting, or crocheting. In these classes, we will work on building relationships, creating a sense of community, and developing essential skills like communication, perspective-taking, and self-regulation.

Who is this for?
The group is designed for children in grades 4th through 6th with or without crafting experience. In a small group, your child will work on creative fiber based projects, navigate social interactions, and build connections with others. All groups are coordinated by a licensed educational psychologist.
Why a group?
Groups provide a safe and structured environment for learners to build community and practice social navigation. These groups are specially designed to teach learners to:
-strengthen motor skills and planning.
-build independence skills for daily life.
-self-advocate.
-build meaningful relationships.
-develop teamwork.
-practice perspective-taking skills.
-gain confidence in social situations.
-navigate big feelings.

Cost?
The 8-week group costs $540, and includes a 45 minute pre-meeting with your child, 8 group therapy sessions, and materials to complete their project in group. Additionally, we can provide superbills upon request.
Why fiber arts?
Fiber arts offer a unique opportunity to practice problem solving, develop motor skills, and build resilience all while gaining confidence and flexibility in social interactions. Supplies are provided within the group, and all children will have a project to bring home at the end of the series. Together, we’ll help your child thrive socially and emotionally through the power of creativity!
