What's the difference between a private evaluation and one done by the school district?
A school district evaluation determines whether your child qualifies for special education services under specific criteria related to schools. A private evaluation looks at the full picture of how your child learns, not just whether they meet a threshold, and can include diagnoses and recommendations districts aren’t set up to provide.
Do I need a referral to work with Breakthrough?

What age does Breakthrough work with?
We work with children as young as four, through school age, and beyond. This includes college students and adults seeking accommodations for exams like the SAT, ACT, GRE, or LSAT.
Do you accept insurance?
Breakthrough Education Support is a private pay practice. Psychoeducational evaluations for learning challenges are generally not covered by insurance, since they are considered educational rather than medical. We do provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
